The Memorial Theater Project needs your help!
A group of us has been working on a project to have the Little Theater at Elk River High School renamed in Chase's honor. We are asking for your support to help brainstorm and provide feedback on why the Little Theater at ERHS should be named after him.
- What did the Theater and the art of performing mean to Chase?
- Explain the tremendous impact he himself had on the Theater Department at ERHS.
- Why do you think it is important that the ERHS Little Theater be named after Chase?
- What should the new name be?
- If permission is granted to rename the theater do you have any ideas as to what should be placed in the theater to commemorate Chase?
- Any other comments or ideas you have on why the theater should be renamed after Chase are welcome!
Because we are dealing with a high school theatre, elaboration upon the value and positive effects of theater/performance on young people, and how Chase exemplified these characteristics is also encouraged.
Your input will help us compile a proposal to the Elk River School Board moving them to rename the theater in memory of Chase, honoring his accomplishments as well as his aspirations and the ideas and excellence he inspired in performance communities and all those who knew him.
Please send us an email to memorial@chasekorte.com. If you do not want to have your response posted or would like to remain anonymous, please specify so in your e-mail.
Finally if you would like to be involved in the project please let us know.
We look forward to hearing from you.
The sketch of Chase on this page was drawn by Elliott Durko Lynch at the Hard Times Cafe after a Macbeth rehearsal at the University of Minnesota in 2003.
